Looking to explore Normandy with Bayeux, Arromanches, the d day beaches & Omaha Beach all close by...
Look at our holiday Accommodation!
For Couples a cottage or barn apartment located in grounds of a 400 year old farmhouse, less than 10 minutes from d day landing Utah Beach & Ste Mere Eglise....
plus we postively welcome dogs in our holiday homes
Our vacation properties are located in Normandy, on the Cherbourg Peninsula (La Manche), are in the Cotentin and Bessin Marshlands Regional Natural Park, 145,000 hectares of preserved natural beauty amid the sand dunes and estuaries, designated as a conservation and area of significant importance. In the summer the area is lush grazing for cattle & horses then in the winter the Bessin floods to attract migratory birds.
Not only are our properties located in beautiful countryside, we are also near the World War 2 invasion beaches, the Atlantic Wall, the towns and cities nearby include Bayeux, Caen, Cherbourg, Mont St Michel, Coutances, Carentan, Ste Mere Eglise with Paris a 2 and a half hour train ride away. Jersey an hour’s boat ride away...the problem here is - there is too much to do!
Point du Hoc, Omaha Beach, The American Cemetery, Arromanches where the Mulberry Harbour still is visible are all just a 30 minute drive away. Ste Mere Eglise and Carentan our 2 local towns are where the 82nd Airborne parachuted in, today there is a replica parachutist stuck up the church in St Mere Eglise representing John Steele as played by Red Buttons in The Longest Day (whilst it is a Hollywood take on the events here, it does give an overview of what happened in the local area...we have copies available for our guests to watch).
Apart from WW2, The Bayeux Tapestry, Mont St Michel etc. we have cider, cheeses, calvados, toffees, oysters, all produced locally...local factories and farms are open for you to visit to buy & try the produce!
